SME Engagement Process

Since SME inputs are required in all phases of the lifecycle of the project and their time is precious, we have disciplined processes for SME interaction knowledge capture and SME time requests. Early on in the project, we would have planned out SME free/busy times, expected turnaround times and SME preferences on review formats.

We capture interactions with SMEs using application collaboration tools and record able meetings over the internet as required using tools such as WEBex and Gotomeeting. We also make sure that work-in-progress is regularly updated and placed in a location that is accessible to the SME along with progress notification.

Typically, the SME joins in for the weekly meeting call for the project management group on a web conference.
